**Your mission**:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our dynamic and innovative team.
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and maintenance of the backend systems for the operation of our satellite constellation, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and high-performing.

Backend Development**: Design, implement, and maintain scalable and high-performance cloud based backend systems that meet the business requirements.
- ** Architecture**:Contribute to the architectural decisions and design discussions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the backend infrastructure.
- ** Performance optimization**:Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the backend systems, optimizing code and database queries for efficiency.
- ** Code Review**:Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
- ** Collaboration**:Work closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and QA engineers.
- ** Testing and Quality Assurance**:Implement and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and automated testing processes to ensure the reliability and quality of the backend systems.
- ** Technology Stack**:Work with a variety of technologies, including but not limited to Java, Python, Cucumber and Gherkin, AWS, GraphQL, Apache Kafka, ELK Stack, Docker, Kubernetes.
- ** Technology Evaluation**:Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential to enhance the company's software solutions.
- ** Leadership**:Mentor and guide junior members of the Backend team.
**What you bring on the table**:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- At least 6+ years of proven experience as a Backend Developer with a focus on designing and building scalable systems
- Proficiency in multiple back-end technologies and a strong understanding of cloud technologies, microservice architectures and design patterns
- Experience with database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL), message brokering systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka) and modeling of data and communications between systems
- Demonstrated experience with API design and development
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration systems (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with development of Edge Computing/IOT systems would be a plus
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines and software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and spoken English

**About us**:
Rivada Space Networks is deploying the first true "OuterNET": a global low latency point-to-point connectivity network of LEO satellites.
By connecting our satellites with lasers, we will provide resellers and B2B customers with the ability to securely connect any two points on the globe with low latency and high bandwidth.
The constellations, comprising 600 low-earth-orbit communications satellites, will represent a fundamental change in the availability of secure, global, end-to-end enterprise-grade connectivity for Telecom, Enterprise, Maritime, Energy and Government Services markets.
Rivada Space Networks is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rivada Networks, Inc.
Rivada is working with Terran Orbital to manufacture and SpaceX to launch our satellites.
The deployment starts in 2025 with full-service launch in 2026.
