Radio Operator Position

We are seeking a skilled Radio Operator to join our team.

  • This role involves operating rig communication equipment and answering phones.
  • Clerical duties such as filing and typing may also be required.

To be successful in this position, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Successful military discharge is preferred.
  • Relevant trade school or university training is beneficial.
  • Valid medical examination and vaccination certificates are required.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. They must also be able to demonstrate a commitment to safety and respect for all personnel.

This includes actively promoting open and transparent dialogue between all levels of personnel, demonstrating care for the safety and well-being of all staff, investing in each person to provide equal opportunity for development and advancement, respecting the dignity of all personnel, and recognizing their merit.

You will also be expected to participate fully in the annual performance appraisal process, attend and participate in all required Safety and Operational meetings, complete company training requirements for the Radio Operator job level, and respond to emergency situations as per assigned duties on the station bill.

  • Disciplined application and participation in the company risk management system.
  • Understanding and performing roles and responsibilities as assigned at the pre-job meeting.
  • Understanding hazards associated with the task.
  • Implementing control measures to mitigate identified hazards.
  • Executing tasks in a disciplined manner.
  • Recognizing at-risk behavior or conditions during tasks and calling 'Time out for Safety' when unsure.
  • Participating in After Action Reviews to feedback lessons learned from performing the task.

In addition to these requirements, you will also be expected to understand Company OI & HSE requirements applicable to the job position, execute work in accordance with these requirements, call a Time Out when a real or perceived at-risk behavior or unsafe condition is observed, use WorkSight ENGAGE during the execution of planned work, report incidents or potential hazards to a supervisor, incorporate the Control of Work process into all work, understand and implement major accident barriers / controls applicable to the job position, maintain a safe and organized work area, and participate in all emergency drills and exercises as required.
