Job Title: Database Infrastructure Manager

We are seeking an experienced Database Infrastructure Manager to join our team. The role involves overseeing the design, deployment, and maintenance of highly available database workloads using managed DB services (RDS) and EC2 instances.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and distributed databases (e.g., Cassandra, CockroachDB, Amazon Aurora).

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and maintain database infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to manage code changes and deployments.
  • Develop and oversee database policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to databases.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in database engineering or administration roles.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, including design, deployment, and management of database workloads.
  • Deep expertise in relational databases and distributed databases.
  • Proficiency in tools that manage configurations and infrastructure, such as Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Liquibase, and Flyway.
  • Solid scripting and programming skills in languages like Python, Go, or Bash.
  • Knowledge of SRE practices and observability tools.
  • Understanding of the development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
