Job Summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager - Technology to lead and manage technology projects from initiation to delivery. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead technology projects to deliver business benefits according to timelines, budget, and quality standards.
  • Direct activities of global cross-functional teams and work with the organization to ensure project dependencies are identified and communicated.
  • Create program timelines and detailed project plans, assess Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), resource loading, dependencies, and achievements.
  • Plan and manage budgets associated with technology projects, evaluate percentage complete, track actuals to budget, and mitigate overspend.
  • Collaborate with business teams on value measurements and benefits realization compared to baselines.
  • Ensure risks/issues are surfaced and mitigated, increasing information and recommending issue resolution as appropriate.
  • Ensure project team compliance with organization policies, SOPs, ICH-GCP, regulatory, and project-specific requirements.
  • Supervise external vendors.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years).
  • Proficiency in key principles of cross-functional project management (e.g., time, quality, cost).
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma, Agile, and Scrum methodologies.
  • Familiar with formal organizational change processes and methods (Prosci or similar approach).
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Excellent social skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact/influence/negotiate effectively at all levels.
  • Critical thinker with solid judgment and strong initiative.
  • Proven track record to lead and influence collaboration across multiple and diverse groups.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and be a creative and innovative problem solver.
  • Ability to delegate, optimally prioritize own and project team members' workload.
  • Ability to effectively use automated systems and computerized applications such as Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc., and Visio.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
