Job Overview

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on the optimization of Ubuntu, a widely used Linux desktop and server, for the latest silicon. As a senior software engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the best possible integration of Ubuntu with IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Take a holistic approach to the Ubuntu experience on partner platforms, including inputs on technical plans, testing strategy, and quality metrics.
  • Collaboration: Work with partners to deliver a delightful, optimized first-class Ubuntu experience on their platforms.
  • Solution Development: Design and implement the best Ubuntu integration for IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks.
  • Customer Engagement: Participate as technical lead on complex customer engagements involving complete system architectures from cloud to edge.
  • Application Optimization: Help customers integrate their apps, SDKs, build device OS images, and optimize applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server.
Requirements
  • Passion for Technology: Love technology and working with brilliant people.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or similar.
  • Experience: Experience with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto), open source communities and licenses, and programming languages C and C++.
  • Teamwork: Able to work in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation.
