Job Description

Risk Management professionals are seeking a talented computational fluid dynamics (CFD) consultant with a proven track record of tackling complex technical challenges to join their team. This exciting opportunity involves collaborating with a fast-paced technical safety consultancy at the forefront of risk analysis techniques, helping customers achieve asset and operational safety.

The Risk Management South America team offers a wide range of advisory services for energy industry projects in Brazil and worldwide. As a CFD Consultant, you will work closely with customers and stakeholders across various segments to provide innovative solutions, including energy transition topics like carbon capture and storage (CCS) and hydrogen.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical or mechanical is desirable)
  • At least 4 years of experience in CFD advanced modeling for quantitative risk analysis, such as fire and explosion analysis, gas detector allocation, flame detection allocation, exhaust and vent dispersion, smoke and gas dispersion, flare radiation analysis, and helideck turbulence analysis
  • Proficiency in CFD tools like FLACS and KFX
  • Experience with Ansys Fluent or CFX
  • Familiarity with process safety (PSM) and qualitative risk analysis, including HAZOP, HAZID, etc.
  • Knowledge of Brazilian regulations (onshore and offshore), Petrobras Safety Guidelines, ANP, and NRs
  • Fluency in English (mandatory); Portuguese and Spanish are desirable
