Job Title: National Project Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced National Project Coordinator to join our team at the International Labour Organization (ILO). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of our project, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the project implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, providing technical and administrative supervision to the project team.
  • Contribute to programme development and serve as a national programme advisor to the Directorate, drafting programme and budget proposals, project proposals, and other documents.
  • Identify problems, propose solutions, and follow up with relevant departments to expedite implementation and meet targets.
  • Provide legal and policy advice to government and social partners on fundamental principles and rights at work.
  • Organize training programmes and awareness-raising activities to promote understanding of fundamental principles and rights at work.
  • Maintain close cooperation and coordination with government, employers', and workers' organizations in planning and implementing project activities.
  • Prepare technical progress reports and ad hoc reports on project planning and implementation for submission to the ILO and the donor.
Requirements:
  • First-level university degree in business management, international relations, public policy, international development, economics, law, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in project management, supervision, administration, and implementation of cooperative agreement requirements.
  • Experience working with worker's organizations and/or vulnerable populations is required.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese is required.
Competencies:
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with all project stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand and effectively work with government, workers', and employers' organizations, non-government organizations, and UN agencies.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to successfully advocate for and mobilize action to promote freedom of association and right to collective bargaining principles.
  • Clear commitment to mainstream gender into project activities.
  • Ability to lead and work in a team and good interpersonal relations.
