Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to assist in the administration of our SQL Estate. This role involves working closely with the Senior SQL Server DBA to ensure a smooth running of all SQL environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for patching and upgrading SQL Server environments as needed, ensuring that all systems are up-to-date and running efficiently.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Incident Management: Prioritise and diagnose incidents according to agreed procedures, investigate causes and seek resolution, escalate unresolved incidents, facilitate recovery after incident resolution, and document and close resolved incidents.
  • Problem Management: Initiate and monitor actions to investigate and resolve problems, determine problem fixes and implement remedies.
  • Requirements Definition and Management: Assist in defining and managing requirements.
  • Change Management: Assess, analyse, develop, document, and implement changes based on requests.
  • Information Content Publishing: Contribute to publication support activities and data collation, take source material and create content according to guidelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications

We require a Degree or equivalent in Information Technology with related Microsoft Certification and at least 2-3 years' experience in a similar capacity. Key skills include knowledge of MS SQL 2019, Azure SQL DB, and installation, configuration, and management of SQL server.
