This senior engineering manager position demands a technical leader passionate about open source software, Linux, and the developer experience. The successful candidate will shape the future of Linux from small systems to desktops, leveraging their expertise in software development, team management, and strategic planning.
The role involves leading a team of skilled software developers to design and implement Ubuntu Core system software on various CPU architectures. Key responsibilities include meeting stakeholders, prioritizing requests, and ensuring timely delivery of technical solutions that address business needs.
Key Requirements- Technical expertise in software development, particularly in C/C++ and Golang.
- Experience in leading, managing, and mentoring software developers.
- Strong understanding of Linux and its ecosystem, with preference for Debian or Ubuntu.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to set and manage expectations.
- Agile development methodologies and containerization experience.
- Embedded software development and hardware knowledge.
- Passion for technology and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
