Senior Software Engineering Lead

Canonical's Landscape systems management solution for Ubuntu is in need of a reboot. We are hiring an engineering manager to lead this effort.
This role requires technical leadership experience and a background in software engineering. You will be responsible for building and leading a team of engineers, developing talent through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development, demonstrating sound engineering principles, and contributing toward your team's goals.
You will work closely with product managers, producing an engineering roadmap with ambitious and achievable goals, collaborating with other engineering and business teams at Canonical, and providing periodic updates about successes and areas of improvement.
Key responsibilities include setting and managing expectations with other engineering teams, management, and external stakeholders, leading modern, agile software development practices, ensuring a healthy, collaborative engineering culture, and being an active part of the leadership team.
Valued skills and experience include knowledge and passion for software development, experience and commitment to agile development methodologies, software development experience in Python or Golang, effective written and verbal communication skills, and practical experience with Linux system administration.
