Job Summary

This role is an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students at a premier research institution.

  • As an Assistant Director of Residence Life, you will be responsible for leading a passionate team of student staff members and directly managing a residential area.

The ideal candidate will have strong supervision and leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities:
  1. Supervision and Development: Provide direct supervision and development to a team of student staff members, including facilitating regular supervisory meetings and monitoring performance.
  2. Community Development: Oversee the implementation and refinement of educational and community development strategies to foster residents' continued engagement with bLUeprint.
  3. Assessment and Support: Assess learning goals and outcomes of the curriculum strategies and identify, support, and refer students who exhibit personal, social, academic, and/or behavioral concerns.
  4. Administrative Hearing Officer: Serve as an administrative hearing officer in support of Student Conduct and Community Expectations processes.
  5. Financial Stewardship: Execute financial stewardship over assigned area budget.
  6. Leadership and Teamwork: Assist with implementation of recruitment, selection, training, and development programs for Gryphons and serve on the Assistant Director duty rotation.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to three years of related work experience.
  • Strong supervision and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

This is a live-in position that will work 48 weeks out of 52 weeks per year; with last week in May and first 3 weeks in June off.
