The Marine Electrician must ensure safe and reliable operation of onboard electrical/electronic equipment, complying with instructions from senior engineers and understanding hierarchical responsibilities.

Key duties include:

  • Operating vessels efficiently, effectively, and safely, adhering to Chief Engineer's instructions, relevant legislation, and Company Safety Management System.
  • Maintaining awareness of company policies regarding health, safety, environment, quality, protection, and substance abuse.
  • Implementing knowledge about Safety Management System procedures.
  • Informing senior engineers and other roles to coordinate activities, ensuring maximum safety, quality, and environmental protection.
  • Conducting tasks under guidance of Second Engineer.
  • Reporting defects, non-conformities, and issues that may affect safe operations or pose health and safety risks, quality of work, or operational efficiency.
  • Staying informed about matters related to vessel operations within their areas of responsibility.

Requirements:

  • Relevant technical courses for the role
  • English proficiency considered advantageous
  • Background in electronics considered advantageous
