KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a software engineer, your primary focus will be on the design and development of software solutions, encompassing various roles in Engineering such as business software engineers, platform engineers, and quality assurance engineers. You will leverage leading open-source software, databases, cloud technologies, and programming languages to address challenges and deliver precise, sophisticated, and scalable applications that benefit our organization and clients.
Your role is pivotal in transforming Goldman Sachs through the application of your technical skills. You will collaborate closely with business partners within embedded engineering teams and engage with multiple departments, including trading, sales, asset management, banking, and finance, to devise automated solutions that maintain our competitive edge. Alternatively, you may join our core engineering teams to enhance our operations by providing reliable and scalable platforms for data engineering, machine learning, networking, developer tools, collaboration, and more.
Work alongside UI/UX designers, data scientists, cloud engineers, and other professionals in an agile, collaborative setting where your enthusiasm for tackling new challenges and continuous learning will have an immediate impact.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline;
- Strong skills in object-oriented or functional analysis and design;
- Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and performance-oriented design;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders while working effectively in a global team;
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for problem-solving and product innovation;
- 2 - 5 years of experience in software development.
EXPERTISE REQUIRED IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING
- Proficient in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python, with experience in concurrency and memory management;
- Skilled in responsive web development, including React/Angular/Redux, and advanced JavaScript capabilities;
- Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Elastic Search;
- Ability to design enterprise-level applications or analyze raw datasets using Snowflake.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Interest or knowledge in trading technologies relevant to a trading firm's front office;
- Background in Computer Science or a related field.
