We are seeking an exceptional Software Engineering Manager to lead and inspire our regional team in transforming software operations. This role involves driving true model-driven operations through next-generation infrastructure-as-code, allowing companies to run efficient bare-metal operations for high-performance computing, private cloud, data lakes, AI/ML, and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct a team of Python engineers working remotely in global locations.
  • Hire, coach, mentor, provide feedback, and contribute to the career development of team members.
  • Demonstrate sound engineering principles by directly contributing code yourself.
  • Develop and manage progress on agreed goals and projects.
  • Establish and manage expectations with other engineering and operations teams.
  • Coordinate with management and internal or external stakeholders/customers.
  • Promote modern, agile software development practices.
  • Help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices.
  • Foster a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with company values.
  • Participate actively in the leadership team and collaborate with other leaders in the organisation.
Requirements:
  • You have experience developing and growing people and can demonstrate this track record.
  • You are knowledgeable about agile software development and passionate about it.
  • You enjoy leading, coaching, and mentoring software developers, especially those proficient in Python.
  • You have knowledge in cloud computing concepts and technologies.
  • You are comfortable administering Linux servers, including storage and networking.
  • You have hands-on experience with software automation.
  • You are organized and want your team to deliver high-quality software efficiently.
  • You are committed to lifelong learning.
Bonus Points:
  • You hold a university degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • You have a thorough understanding of modern infrastructure, including OpenStack or Kubernetes.
  • You have experience in operations as well as software development.
  • You are familiar with large-scale, multi-cloud operations challenges.
  • You have expertise in Go programming.
