Career Opportunity: Cybersecurity Data Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Data Engineer to join our team in São José dos Campos or São Paulo, Brazil. As a key member of our J&J Information Security and Risk Management (ISRM) organisation, you will be working at the intersection of Cybersecurity, Data Engineering, and Data Science.
Your primary focus will be on engineering and developing automated data pipelines, sophisticated data models, and on-demand analytics for various Cybersecurity use cases, including Threat Detection and Monitoring, Cyber Risk Insights and Management, and Vulnerability Management Processes.
Responsibilities:
- Foster strong relationships with customers to understand their data needs and develop scalable and automated data pipelines and data models.
- Design, implement, and support advanced data engineering processes for greater scalability, optimized data delivery, and automation of manual tasks.
- Document dataflows, data lineages, code, and logic, and share them with the team.
- Develop CI/CD Infrastructure as Code streams to bring data pipelines from sandbox to DEV to PROD environments.
- Identify data governance needs, overseeing the design of data modelling and handling procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including Executive, Product, SOC, Data, and Design teams, to support data and reporting needs while addressing technical issues.
- Deliver high-quality work and exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment to meet company needs.
- Build and maintain key vendor and customer relationships across platforms and services, setting up and supervising clear product SLAs, measurable performance, product health monitoring, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge of Azure or Amazon data analytics and engineering technology stack (S3, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, IAM, Redshift, VPC, Azure Data Explorer, Azure Data Factory, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure ADX, Azure Synapse Analytics or Data Bricks).
- Proficiency in Python and PySpark, with at least 5 years' experience in developing end-to-end ETL pipelines.
- Sophisticated SQL knowledge and experience with SQL scripting in various DB technologies (MS SQL, Hive / Impala, Oracle, Presto / Athena SQL, Azure KQL).
- Experience with data modelling/architecture, able to develop data mart, star schema, and related ETL.
- Knowledge of IT technical infrastructures (Network, IAM, Endpoints, ...).
- Proven experience in all phases of leading data projects, including problem definition, solution formulation, model building, productizing, and delivering measurable impact.
- Strong GIT/code version controlling experience, knowledge of overall related tools, commands, workflows.
- Working experience with different file formats (JSON, parquet, CSV, text).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to evangelize data-informed decision-making at all levels.
- Able to work independently, in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing expectations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms, including Microsoft Sentinel.
- Experience working with Security Technology solutions, including EDR, NDR, MDR, or XDR.
- Experience with developing data models for Cybersecurity threat and risk detection and monitoring.
- An advanced degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of Terraform, DevOps CI/CD, and Jira.
- Hadoop working experience, especially Hive, HDFS, Impala.
Estimated Salary: R$120,000 - R$180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
