Hospital Medicine Physician Role
As a Hospital Medicine physician at a leading healthcare facility, you will be part of an esteemed team that provides around-the-clock coverage for acute medical patients.
- Admit and manage acute medical cases as the primary care physician.
- Develop a hospital-based practice and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care.
- Demonstrate superior clinical and communication skills, along with outstanding bedside manner.
- Commit to the evolving specialty of hospital medicine.
The Hospital Medicine program offers:
- 10-hour daytime shifts with flexible scheduling options.
- 8-hour evening admission shifts with remote access capabilities.
- 9-hour rotating overnight call shifts with virtual line access from home.
- Opportunity to perform up to 20% of patient care duties remotely with secure online access.
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a valid medical license or equivalent in British Columbia (BC).
- Possess Canadian Certified Family Physician (CCFP) credentials or their equivalents.
- Have Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or its equivalent.
- Enjoy experience in hospital medicine, although not mandatory.
This role is offered on a full-time basis, requiring a minimum commitment of 14 days per month. Part-time opportunities are also available, accommodating approximately half the number of hours required by full-time physicians. Additional shifts can be arranged according to individual needs.
