Electrical Field Service Technician Job Overview

This role requires an individual with expertise in electrical and mechanical hands-on field service work on Jenbacher Gas Engines. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing tasks such as commissioning, troubleshooting, periodic maintenance, and minor overhaul of these engines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all service is executed in compliance with the maintenance protocol of each type of engine, including checks and replacements of oil levels and filters, spark plugs, and valve clearance.
  • Carry out troubleshooting activities to identify mechanical and electronic failures on the engine and its control systems, and analyze historical data.
  • Manage customer expectations and provide timely reports on progress and results.
  • Prepare and submit service reports detailing reasons for visits, actions taken, results obtained, and follow-up actions required.
Requirements
  • Deep understanding of electrical principles and good mechanical knowledge (minimum 5+ years of experience as electrician; preferred with Otto cycle engines and gensets/gas engines).
  • Technical Professional Qualification according to MEC (Brazilian Ministry of Education and Culture) and IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent technical specialist knowledge and customer service abilities, ability to handle stress and maintain stability under pressure.
  • Familiarity with Jenbacher reciprocating gas/diesel engines and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license, effective interpersonal and organizational skills, and strong written and verbal abilities in local language (Portuguese).
