About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Scientist to join our Emerging Markets team at Prudential Financial. As a key member of our data-driven journey, you will play a critical role in steering cross-country initiatives and supporting our Prudential Emerging Markets strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership to a portfolio of high-impact data science initiatives, identifying optimal data, models, training, and testing techniques for successful product delivery.
  • Develop advanced data science solutions, performing hands-on data analysis, model development, training, and testing.
  • Communicate complex model design and development to stakeholders, generating insights and new ideas for model improvement.
  • Leverage continuous integration and deployment best practices, including test automation and monitoring, to ensure successful deployment of ML models and application code.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, providing input and coaching team members to embed learning and innovation in daily work.
Requirements
  • Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with experience in related fields.
  • Ability to coach others with minimal guidance, leveraging diverse ideas and experiences to benefit the organization.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes for making sound decisions in the company's business context.
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an ongoing basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced experience and/or expertise with several of the following: data acquisition and transformation, database management systems, statistics and computing, data wrangling, machine learning, model deployment, and generative AI.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL programming languages.
