About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Data Scientist to join our Emerging Markets team at Prudential Financial. As a key member of our data-driven journey, you will play a critical role in steering cross-country initiatives and supporting our Prudential Emerging Markets strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership to a portfolio of high-impact data science initiatives, identifying optimal sets of data, models, training, and testing techniques required for successful product delivery.
  • Develop and execute advanced analytic models and methods, focusing on creating solutions that are stable, producible, scalable, and seamlessly integrated with our other products and services.
  • Collaborate with local teams, Machine Learning Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and other professionals across geographies to develop and deploy innovative products, services, and experiences.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, in writing and verbally, all facets of model design and development, and continuously look for insights in models developed and generate new ideas for model improvement.
  • Leverage continuous integration and continuous deployment best practices, including test automation and monitoring, to ensure successful deployment of ML models and application code.
  • Bring a strong understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, providing input and coaching team members and embedding learning and innovation in the day-to-day.
Requirements
  • Master or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field, with experience in related fields.
  • Ability to coach others with minimal guidance and effectively leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to the benefit of the organization.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business.
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an ongoing basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced experience and/or expertise with several of the following: Data Acquisition and Transformation, Database Management System, Statistics and Computing, Data Wrangling, Machine Learning, Model Deployment, Generative AI, and Programming Languages.
