Job Summary:

\

The Executive Director of Financial Aid plays a key role in supporting the University's enrollment, retention, and net tuition revenue goals through the development and implementation of effective financial aid strategies.

\

They oversee the successful administration of all institutional, federal, state, local, and private financial aid and scholarship programs. The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient financial aid processing, operations, and customer service while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, institutional policies, and procedures.

\

As a member of the Enrollment Management Leadership Team, they collaborate closely with other units within Enrollment Management and Student Success, colleges/schools, academic departments, Development and Alumni Relations, and administrative student services units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Chief Financial Aid Administrator for Title IV, Title VII, and Institutional Aid.\
  • Monitor and analyze federal and institutional regulations to guide necessary financial aid policy, system, and procedural changes.\
  • Develop annual financial aid budgets, policies, and procedures to support enrollment and strategic plan objectives.\
  • Leverage institutional aid programs to support recruitment, retention efforts, and budgetary needs.\
  • Collaborate with Enrollment Management units to create streamlined student enrollment experiences.\
  • Work with University leadership on Financial Aid issues.\
  • Review and submit compliance reports (FISAP, PPA, ECAR).\
  • Act as primary Financial Aid contact for compliance and financial audits.\
  • Conduct training sessions for Financial Aid staff and cross-functional training.\
  • Represent the University at internal and external events and respond to inquiries regarding service delivery and daily operations.\
  • Finalize financial aid appeals from students.\
  • Counsel students and parents on federal, state, and institutional student aid programs and procedures.\
  • Maintain accurate financial aid records and stay current with evolving regulations.\
  • Supervise management of the student aid system, including data integrity and compliance reporting.\
  • Coordinate financial aid disbursement, student billing, and account resolution processes with the Bursar's Office.\
  • Develop and maintain a student-centric culture focused on customer service and financial literacy.\
  • Provide outreach and education on financial aid options through workshops, digital content, and counseling.\
  • Perform other duties as assigned.\
  • Demonstrate expertise in financial aid program legislation, internal and external reporting requirements, and automated financial systems.\
  • Exercise good judgment when faced with difficult decisions and maintain confidentiality.\\
