Electrical Engineer – Control Room

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in the control room. As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing the electricity distribution network in real-time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage the electricity distribution network in real-time.
  • Take the lead on restoring customer supply during unplanned faults – ensuring safe and efficient restoration.
  • Perform power system analysis to support safe plant operation, generator output, and system security.
  • Liaise with internal dispatchers, field engineers, embedded generators, and other DNOs to ensure smooth operations.
  • Deliver top-tier customer service, especially during incidents, keeping internal teams and customers informed.
  • Prioritise safety, following legislation and company codes of practice.

Requirements:

  • HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (essential).
  • Solid understanding of electrical power systems and network operation.
  • Excellent communication skills – clear, calm, and customer-focused.
  • Strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
  • High computer literacy and confidence working with complex operational systems.
  • Great interpersonal skills – influencing and collaborating across teams, customers, and third parties.
