Senior Java Developer Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to enhance our IT systems by introducing new technology and integrating with third-party providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and integrate derivative trading applications using advanced programming techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with business stakeholders including traders, operations, and strategists to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Translate business requirements into technical design specifications to drive project success.
  • Identify technology solutions for enhancements or new initiatives to improve overall system performance.
  • Implement unit and integration test cases using industry-standard test automation frameworks to ensure high-quality code.
  • Document changes necessary to support business operations and provide exceptional customer service.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of enterprise development experience (Java/JDK 8+).
  • Proven expertise in developing high-performance and distributed applications.
  • Experience with message brokers (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar) to ensure efficient data transfer.
  • Knowledge of cache/in-memory data grids (Redis, Hazelcast, or similar) to optimize system performance.
  • Expertise in OOP/OOD principles to ensure well-structured code.
  • Strong SQL and DB knowledge to design and implement efficient databases.
  • Experience with automated testing (TDD, BDD, Mutation testing) to ensure high-quality code.
  • Knowledge of common Linux commands to manage system resources.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Apache Camel for efficient data processing.
  • Familiarity with job schedulers (Tidal, Control-M, Autosys) to streamline workflow.
