Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Game Environment Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our game development process, you will be responsible for creating engaging and immersive environments that draw players in and keep them invested in the game world.

Your primary focus will be on designing and building 3D spaces that integrate seamlessly with gameplay mechanics, narrative elements, and artistic vision. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including game designers, writers, artists, and engineers, to ensure a cohesive and polished final product.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in level design tools and software, particularly Unity, and contribute to the creation of a unique and captivating game experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Level Design Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in designing levels for games with exploration, narrative progression, or tactical encounters.
  • Space and Flow Understanding: A strong sense of space, flow, player guidance, and moment-to-moment pacing.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in level design tools and software, particularly Unity, and ability to prototype and iterate in a 3D environment.
  • Narrative Empathy: Deep empathy for the player experience, especially how exploration and story interweave.
  • JRPG Knowledge: Familiarity with JRPG structure (e.g. dungeon design, overworld pacing, town/dungeon rhythm).
