Solid Waste Management Professional

Job Role:

The Solid Waste Management Professional oversees operations at the solid-waste management facility and workflow of the department.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Operations Oversight

The incumbent will oversee daily tasking, manage the solid-waste barn, and ensure that all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are being followed and safety standards are met.

Data Management

The individual will maintain and update the Solid Waste Tracking spreadsheet and ensure quality control of the data being inputted.

Team Coordination

The incumbent will coordinate daily tasking depending on the skill set of the Waste Stream Coordinators.

Training and Protocol

The person will ensure proper training and familiarity with established protocol for solid-waste barn activities.

Emergency Response

The incumbent will participate in spill response and be on call for one week out of every four, twenty-four hours a day.

Equipment Operation

The individual will operate equipment such as articulating loaders, graders, fork-lifts, tracked agricultural tractors, dump-trucks, excavators, etc. safely and technically proficiently.

Maintenance and Inspection

The person will perform daily equipment checks to ensure all equipment is properly maintained and in safe operating condition.

Compliance and Record Keeping

The incumbent will comply with Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and accurately record time worked and equipment hours used daily in Maximo.

Requirements and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
