Animal Therapy Center Caregiver

Key Responsibilities:

  • Unlock, open, and set up the center in the morning and close down at night (responsibility depends upon scheduled shift);
  • Check laundry during downtime and maintain a clean facility;
  • Provide customer service to clients and patients;
  • Assist CVTs and DVMs on a daily basis during therapy sessions, evaluations, and follow-up exams;
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace;
  • Ensure all client records are accurate and up-to-date;

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, bend, or sit for 6-8 hours;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently;
  • Ability to climb stairs and assist clients in and out of the building;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once;
  • Motivated individual with a strong desire to learn and develop in this profession;
  • Strong desire to be part of a caring and competent team of veterinary professionals;
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends;
  • Excellent patient care and client communication skills;

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to zoonotic diseases;
  • Exposure to animals with a possibility of bites/scratches;
  • Exposure to animal feces, urine, or other bodily fluids;
  • Exposure to pool chemicals;
  • Exposure to confined spaces and loud noises;
  • Exposure to client's emotional situations;
  • Exposure to peanut products and latex (ALLERGY WARNING).

Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent;

Experience: Minimum 1 year animal hospital experience preferred;

Skills: Excellent customer service skills; ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment;

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, bend, or sit for 6-8 hours; ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently.
