Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets.

We are hiring an Engineer to work in a dynamic and exciting role in Linux-based infrastructure and applications, covering all layers of the stack.

The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes and other open source software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolve complex customer issues using exceptional technical expertise
  • Maintain close working relationships with cross-functional teams
  • Participate in upstream communities to drive innovation and improvement
  • Develop bug fixes, backport patches, and collaborate with upstream contributors
  • Review code produced by colleagues and provide constructive feedback
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in technical methods and techniques
  • Prioritize work effectively against project goals and objectives
  • Contribute to team discussions to improve processes, tools, and documentation
  • Communicate technical information clearly and concisely

Requirements

  • Exceptional academic record
  • Background in Computer Science or similar field
  • Experience with Linux and open source software
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. Python, Go, C, C++) on Linux
  • Able to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and challenges

This role requires strong technical skills and a passion for problem-solving.
