Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory management processes. Your responsibilities will include conducting daily cycle count activities, posting corresponding adjustments, and preparing SOX controls documentation. You will also assist the Inventory Lead and plant controller in internal and external inventory audits, correct identified inventory variances, and manage specific inventory locations to ensure accurate levels and effective space utilization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, document, and implement standard work practices for raw material inventory processes
  • Perform daily cycle counts and post corresponding adjustments
  • Prepare SOX controls documentation (Daily/Monthly/Quarterly/Annually)
  • Assist in internal and external inventory audits
  • Correct inventory variances and check inventory levels as needed
  • Manage specific inventory locations to ensure accurate levels and effective space utilization
  • Participate in physical inventory process and perform special counts as needed
  • Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and bring visibility to it
  • Maintain job standards according to pre-established safety, quality, and efficiency procedures
  • Monitor accurate and timely processing of inventory transactions
  • Attend required company meetings and training sessions
  • Foster a safe work environment and adhere to all policies and procedures
  • Present a professional image to customers and community
  • Pursue company-sponsored training opportunities to develop knowledge and skillset
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, and 3-5 years of experience in food industry is required. Previous experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments is necessary, along with certification for fork trucks and stock picker. Familiarity with OSHA requirements, Lean Manufacturing, Kan Ban, FIFO, and Min Max is highly preferred.
