Senior Microsoft Data Architect

About the Role

We're seeking a highly experienced, autonomous data architect to lead data strategy and architecture for a high-impact client. You'll be the go-to expert for building, scaling, and securing modern data platforms using the Microsoft ecosystem.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on solving complex data challenges, enjoys working with cutting-edge tools, and wants to make a direct impact in a fast-moving environment. What You'll Do

  • Design & build data platforms using Microsoft Fabric (Synapse, OneLake, etc.).
  • Develop scalable pipelines with Azure Data Factory.
  • Optimize data performance using Delta/Parquet, partitioning, and Spark.
  • Model data into easy-to-use structures (star schema, dimensional modeling).
  • Ensure governance & security with Purview, RBAC, ACLs, and related frameworks.
  • Automate deployments with CI/CD for data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and business stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions.

What We're Looking For

  • 15+ years in data engineering/architecture (Principal-level).
  • Deep Microsoft expertise: Fabric, Synapse, OneLake (1+ year).
  • Hands-on experience:
  • Azure Data Factory (2+ years)
  • Delta/Parquet optimization, Spark (5+ years)
  • Dimensional modeling / Star schema (5+ years)
  • Data governance & security (3+ years)
  • CI/CD pipelines for data (2+ years)
