Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a seasoned IT professional to lead the Linux support team and provide top-notch technical assistance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will oversee installations, patching, migrations, and scripting for our Linux environments.
  • They will troubleshoot hardware/software issues across multiple platforms including Linux, HP-UX, Solaris, and AIX.
  • Ongoing system performance optimization and availability will be a key focus.
  • The ideal candidate will also coach and mentor junior team members.
  • Proficiency in ITIL-based tools and monitoring systems is essential.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Linux and Unix systems is required.
  • A deep understanding of filesystem, volume, and storage management is necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, clustering (PCS), and system hardening is expected.
  • Familiarity with SAN/NAS, backup tools (TSM, VEEAM), and storage suites (EMC, NetApp, Hitachi) is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours is a must.

Desirable Skills:

  • Linux certification is a plus.
  • German language skills are an asset.
  • Experience with Veritas Cluster, Apache, DNS, DHCP, LDAP is highly valued.
