Job Title: Staff Site Reliability Engineer
Key Responsibilities:- Design and implement scalable and efficient observability pipelines across logs, metrics, and traces.
- Develop self-service automation tools for development teams to instrument and leverage observability without manual intervention from the SRE team.
- Drive adoption of best practices while ensuring teams own their telemetry.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand monitoring, alerting, and service level requirements and design systems that meet or exceed these requirements.
- Utilize Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to provision and manage monitoring tools, alerting rules, and observability configurations across OTEL Pipelines.
- Define base-level requirements for new and existing services to ensure consistent and accurate monitoring at a basic level.
Ideal Candidate:
- 8+ years of experience working in SRE or a similar role.
- Expertise in cloud (AWS), IaC tools, GitOps CI/CD solutions, monitoring and logging open-source tools, Kubernetes, scripting languages for automating observability tasks, and observability best practices such as SLI, SLOs, Log Transformation, Cardinality Management, Business and Resilience Metrics, 4 Golden Signals, Distributed Tracing, and automated alerting workflows.
Requirements Include:
- Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms, especially AWS.
- Proficiency in IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
- Experience with GitOps CI/CD solutions, including tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or other CI/CD platforms.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging open-source tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or other popular monitoring and logging tools.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization principles.
- Scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or other scripting languages used for automating observability tasks.
- Understanding of observability best practices, including SLI, SLOs, Log Transformation, Cardinality Management, Business and Resilience Metrics, 4 Golden Signals, Distributed Tracing, and automated alerting workflows.
