Job Summary:
The Engine Room Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the main power plant onboard. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure compliance with Seadrill's Code of Conduct and applicable governing requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the power plant is operated within its limitations and that all equipment is in good working condition.
- Conduct daily detailed planning for all upcoming operations and ensure good communication with all involved parties.
- Comply with Seadrill's training, certification, and competence requirements.
- Assume the safety role as per station bill and emergency preparedness plan.
- Participate in meeting activities and training assessments as assigned.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
- Execute operation, maintenance, and repair activities safely and efficiently.
- Monitor power consumption and distribution continuously.
- Conduct drills and checks as required.
- Maintain all applicable reports and logs as required by direct supervisor.
- Ensure the engine room is tidy and in good working order.
- Provide thorough handovers at each daily change of shift.
Equipment and Systems:
- Assist with operational preparedness of all safety and emergency equipment.
- Maintain and record all relevant equipment maintenance.
- Ensure sufficient stock of spare parts and materials required.
Authority:
- As per Corporate and Regional specific Delegation of Authority matrices.
