Our expert analysis assesses pathways for the power, transport, industry, buildings, and agriculture sectors to adapt to the energy transition.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for helping commodity trading, corporate strategy, finance, and policy professionals stay ahead of the curve. You will contribute to the development of primary research and analysis on the transition to a low-carbon economy in Latin America.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the energy industry, particularly the renewables, power, and gas sectors. Fluency in English, Spanish, and/or Portuguese is required to support research and client queries as well as to present BNEF research in public settings.

You will lead a team that produces high-quality research, manage mentorship programs, and collaborate with colleagues and clients from diverse backgrounds.

A successful Energy Transition Strategist should possess excellent quantitative skills, ability to articulate complex ideas in writing and verbally, and strong time management skills.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on multiple projects simultaneously, think critically, and develop thoughtful opinions. A Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Humanities, or other relevant subjects is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of talented analysts while maintaining team cohesion.
  • Oversee the team's output and research pipeline, including market outlooks, analyst reactions, and bespoke reports.
  • Determine BNEF's overall business strategy and research agenda for Latin America.
  • Deliver outstanding analysis on how policy, technology, and finance are changing the long-term outlook for the energy mix in Latin America.
  • Contribute to global BNEF reports and create spin-off reports specific to the region.
  • Edit all BNEF research produced by the Latin America Regional Team and ensure it meets high standards.
  • Present BNEF research in public settings, answer client requests, and support business development through client interactions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Broad and holistic understanding of the energy industry with a focus on Latin America.
  • Deep understanding of the energy industry, particularly the renewables, power, and gas sectors.
  • Fluent professional English, Spanish, and/or Portuguese language skills.
  • Ability to connect-the-dots between diverse research areas, including policy, economics, finance, markets, and technology.
  • Excellent quantitative skills and comfort working with large datasets and models.
  • Substantial experience articulating complex ideas in writing and verbally.
  • Strong client-facing skills and enthusiasm to represent the product both internally and externally.

Salary Range:$150,000 - $200,000 per annum
