Job Summary:

The role of Head of Learning Support is a pivotal position within an educational institution, encompassing the leadership and management of all aspects of learning support across multiple phases.

This position requires a unique blend of teaching expertise, inclusive education knowledge, and leadership acumen. The ideal candidate will be able to design and oversee intervention programmes, provide guidance to teachers on inclusive strategies, and conduct professional development workshops for staff members.

  • A teaching qualification (B.Ed. or equivalent)
  • Postgraduate qualification in Inclusive Education, Educational Support, or related field (advantageous)
  • Registration with SACE
  • Minimum 5 years' teaching experience, with at least 2 years in a learning support or inclusive education environment

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strong organisational and time-management abilities. Additionally, they will have a proven track record of leadership and team management, empathy, patience, and commitment to student well-being.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing the school's learning support policy, providing leadership and direction to the learning support team, acting as the key liaison between stakeholders, and ensuring accommodations are applied fairly and consistently.
