Job Description:

At Amazon, our Finance Operations organization is seeking an exceptional individual to play a key role in our Accounts Receivable (AR) team. As a Cash Flow Specialist - Order to Cash, you will work directly with customers to ensure timely cash collection, address outstanding payment and billing questions, and drive efforts to simplify processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review accounts receivable aging reports daily to identify delinquent invoices requiring immediate action.
  2. Determine the reason for delinquency and work cooperatively with customers to resolve it, following collection policies.
  3. Thoroughly document all collection efforts for each assigned account in the appropriate tool and reports.
  4. Investigate invoice and billing discrepancies to ensure timely, accurate receivables according to due dates.
  5. Provide timely follow-up on payment arrangements and drive actions to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  6. Work to quickly identify payment for cash application.
  7. Track progress against monthly forecasted goals.
  8. Monitor and follow up on customer credit and financial health.
  9. Educate internal and external customers on self-service tools.
  10. Identify and implement best practices for Order-to-Cash processes, documenting operating procedures for complex customers.
  11. Recognize escalation trends, identify defects, and root causes, follow through to resolution, including executive-level communication.
  12. Partner with and influence Sales, Billing, Shared Service, and others to resolve defects.
  13. Utilize data from various databases and internal tools (Excel, SQL, or other data management systems) to perform reporting and analysis.
  14. Lead and support innovative, multi-functional projects and teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Experience in Finance, particularly Accounts Receivable (Order to Cash), Treasury, and Customer Service environments.
  2. Excellent partnership, business, and customer support and negotiation skills.
  3. Demonstrated Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, filters, basic functions, tables) with the ability to work with large datasets.
  4. Experience using Tableau or other Business Intelligence (BI) tools for developing financial and operational reports.
  5. Proactivity, excellent communication (spoken and written), and fluency in English and Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 4+ years of experience in continuous improvement projects within your team, leading to measurable results.
  2. Bachelor's degree or MBA.
  3. Knowledge of Tableau.
  4. Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
  5. 3+ years of business-to-business collections experience.
  6. 3+ years of controls/audit/compliance/SOX roles experience.
