The Aviation Security and Regulatory Compliance team is seeking a leader to provide oversight of in-house screening operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing risk-based security standards and ensuring compliance with federal regulations and corporate policies.
This key role will support the Amazon Air operation programs with understanding, implementing, and validation of security requirements, to ensure employees, third-party vendors, and assets are secure.
You will ensure that the organization is prepared to properly respond to various security-related threats, emergencies, and escalations.
This position will support customers across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities- Anticipate customer needs by understanding their business and develop scalable strategic solutions.
- Develop weekly and quarterly business reviews to provide customers with a clear line of sight into the team's focus of attention, network trends, initiatives, and deliverables.
- Collaborate with internal customers to develop security solutions to address evolving operational processes with a focus on identifying solutions that facilitate business objectives.
- Oversight and support the development and presentation of SeMS data, metrics, and KPIs to internal and external customers and stakeholders.
- Manage information from various reporting tools to determine and manage risks.
- Liaise with local and federal regulatory agencies in support of our customers and stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Regularly meet with 3P Security and Air Carrier Leadership to discuss projects, initiatives, trending data, and areas of opportunity.
The Aviation Security and Regulatory Compliance team is responsible for security, loss prevention, and regulatory compliance at Amazon.
The organization is built with four core pillars: Security Management Systems, Programs and Quality Assurance, Security Operations, and Credentialing.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Bachelor degree in one of the following disciplines: aviation security, aviation regulatory, transportation/supply chain operations, or corporate security management.
- Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or Customs security badges, if applicable.
- Effective communications, influence, and negotiation skills, ability to determine where to simplify or extend solutions for the best outcome, and to drive Kaizens and other best practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet business needs.
- Certification(s) in Security Operations.
- Aviation security experience; Aviation Regulatory Security Compliance experience, specifically with TSA or US Customs.
- Strong leadership skills and knowledge; ability to influence change and drive desired outcomes in a matrix-structured organization.
- Ability to independently manage through ambiguity and handle changing priorities, to effectively prioritize, multitask, and exercise good judgment.
- Experience with physical security control and/or surveillance systems.
