Seismic Interpretation Specialist

The role of the Seismic Interpretation Specialist is a critical one, as it involves transforming complex seismic data into meaningful insights that can be used to make informed decisions across various industries. The successful candidate will have a solid background in geophysics, geology, or a related field, with expertise in seismic interpretation, exploration geology, stratigraphy, and basin analysis.

Responsibilities of the job include performing seismic interpretation for Velocity Model Building (VMB), including horizon picking and creating local velocity scenarios. Additionally, the individual will apply imaging tools, workflows, and data QC to integrate geological and geophysical data for deeper insights. Effective communication and presentation skills are essential for this role, as the specialist will engage directly with clients to present results and understand their perspectives.

Key qualifications for this position include a Master's or PhD degree in Geophysics, Geology, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience in the Oil & Gas industry. A strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, as well as Python programming skills, are also highly desirable. Experience with Pre-Salt or Brazilian Equatorial Margin is a plus.
