Job Description

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's data infrastructure with a strong focus on building and optimizing our data warehouse.


Key Responsibilities
  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, implement, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow to process large datasets efficiently.
  • Business Intelligence: Develop data models across the architecture layers to support analytics and reporting, ensuring seamless integration with various tools and systems.
  • Query Optimization: Optimize SQL queries for large datasets in AWS Athena and other relational systems to improve query performance and reduce latency.
  • Dashboard Development: Build and maintain dashboards and BI workflows using Metabase to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Analytics teams to define startup metrics and KPIs that drive business growth and success.
  • Data Quality: Ensure data quality, governance, and reproducibility across the data warehouse/lake by implementing robust data validation and monitoring processes.
  • Culture of Excellence: Establish best practices for data engineering and analytics to foster a culture of excellence and innovation within the team.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Technical Skills: Strong SQL expertise with experience tuning queries and designing efficient schemas to optimize database performance.
  • Tools and Technologies: Hands-on experience with Airflow for workflow orchestration, including pipeline design and deployment. Familiarity with AWS services, especially Athena, S3, and Glue.
  • BI Tools: Experience building analytics dashboards with Metabase or similar BI tools to provide interactive and dynamic visualizations.
  • Architecture: Understanding of Medallion Architecture and layered data pipelines to ensure alignment with company standards and best practices.
  • Startup Metrics: Strong understanding of startup/product metrics and how to translate them into analytics workflows to drive business decision-making.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python for data engineering and ETL tasks, including data processing and manipulation.
  • Collaboration: Collaborative and able to work cross-functionally with product and business teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.
