Lead Data Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled data architect to design and evolve our relational data systems.

About the Role

This is a full-time contract position. As a lead data architect, you will define schemas, build models, and enforce standards that keep our data reliable, secure, and performant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement logical and physical data models that scale with complex applications.
  • Tune queries, indexes, and partitioning strategies for maximum performance.
  • Support ETL/ELT processes and ensure robust data synchronization across environments.
  • Establish standards for data quality, retention, lineage, and compliance.
  • Partner with teams to ensure the database architecture supports real-world use cases.
  • Define naming conventions, coding standards, and best practices to ensure maintainability.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Deep expertise in relational database design (PostgreSQL preferred).
  • Strong command of SQL and query optimization.
  • Experience with schema normalization/denormalization and partitioning strategies.
  • Familiarity with backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Solid understanding of security practices: encryption, access controls, and auditing.
  • Background in designing for large-scale transactional systems.
