Job Summary

This is a senior-level position that oversees the development and implementation of security protocols to safeguard employees, assets, and third-party vendors. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, managing risk, and providing leadership to the Aviation Security and Regulatory Compliance team.

About the Job

The Aviation Security and Regulatory Compliance (AvSec) team plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of Amazon's air network. As an AvSec Manager, you will work closely with internal stakeholders to develop and implement security solutions that support business objectives while minimizing risks.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement risk-based security standards and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the AvSec team, including developing and presenting SeMS data, metrics, and KPIs to internal and external customers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal customers to develop security solutions that address evolving operational processes and facilitate business objectives.
  • Manage information from various reporting tools to determine and manage risks, including overseeing the investigation of regulatory violations and utilizing the Security Management System to identify root cause and develop mitigating actions.
  • Liaise with local and federal regulatory agencies to support customers and stakeholders, both internal and external.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in aviation security, aviation regulatory, or transportation/supply chain operations; corporate security management.
  • Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or Customs security badges, if applicable.
  • Effective communication, influence, and negotiation of priorities; ability to simplify or extend solutions for the best outcome, and to drive Kaizens and other best practices.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification(s) in Security Operations.
  • Aviation security experience.
  • Aviation Regulatory Security Compliance experience, specifically with TSA or US Customs.
  • Strong leadership skills and knowledge; ability to influence change and drive outcomes in a matrix organization.
  • Ability to independently manage through ambiguity and handle changing priorities, effectively prioritize, multitask, and exercise good judgment.
