Sr. Ehs Engineer

We are seeking a highly qualified Sr. Ehs Engineer to work on complex ehs challenges.

This role offers the opportunity to support business operations and influence long-term safety and environmental strategies within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain ehs policies, programs, and procedures to ensure alignment with corporate standards and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and job safety analyses (jsa) to identify potential hazards and develop effective mitigation plans.
  • Manage and execute ehs audits, inspections, and internal assessments to ensure timely corrective actions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead root cause investigations for accidents, incidents, and near-misses to develop corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Deliver ehs training programs across multiple levels of the organization to drive awareness, engagement, and accountability.
  • Provide technical guidance on safety, environmental compliance, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene across engineering, manufacturing, and operational projects.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all ehs activities to ensure full regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
  • Monitor ehs kpis, analyze trends, and report performance metrics to senior management to identify areas for further improvement.
  • Stay current on applicable ehs regulations, standards, and industry best practices to advise leadership on emerging risks or legislative changes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, occupational safety, environmental science, or related field.
  • Postgraduate degree or certification in occupational safety engineering or environmental management preferred.
  • Active registration and certification with relevant professional bodies.
  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in ehs roles, preferably within manufacturing, industrial operations, renewable energy, or construction environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of brazilian and international ehs regulations, standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience leading risk assessments, audits, accident investigations, and safety culture initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in microsoft office and ehs management systems.
  • Advanced english required.
