Electrical Engineer Position Overview

We seek a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in a maintenance capacity within a plant environment. This is an opportunity for someone with experience in fault finding, repair, and commissioning of electrical equipment.


Job Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for industrial gas sites in the North East region of the USA, including 138kV substations, switchgear, Motor Control Centers, Variable Frequency Drives, Battery & UPS systems, DCS & PLC Controls, and large motors.
  • Support the development of detailed electrical major maintenance work scopes, budgets, contractor selection, and execution strategies.
  • Identify new and assess existing electrically related condition-based monitoring tools, techniques, and practices.
  • Review electrically related CBM reports and data, agreeing specific actions as indicated.
  • Provide electrical technical support, review, and approval of changes using the Engineering Management of Change process.
  • Create or review and approve the application of electrical equipment PMs, work instructions, and related procedures.
  • Support operations in the field for major maintenance, upgrades, new plant checkout, and commissioning.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low/medium/high voltage substations, switchgear, transformers, motors, distribution systems, and associated protection and support equipment.
  • Proven effectiveness at trouble shooting electrical issues, identifying problem components and interfaces, and executing effective solutions.
  • Working knowledge of National Electrical Code, NFPA 70; National Electrical Testing Assoc, NETA, Maintenance Testing Specifications; Standard for Electrical Safety, NFPA 70E.
