Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Director to drive partnerships for licensing and embedding Ubuntu into software and SaaS solutions. This role will focus on establishing strategic relationships with large organisations, leveraging our extensive base of open source software, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

The successful candidate will have a strong passion for technology, extensive experience in the software industry, and excellent interpersonal skills. They will be responsible for negotiating contracts, shaping content and messaging, and developing strategic partnerships that support Canonical's ambitions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive embedded support and licensing sales with ISVs to meet or exceed quarterly and annual bookings targets
  • Lead customer and partner relationships through all stages of the sales lifecycle
  • Cultivate deep understanding and engagement with the open source ecosystem
  • Identify and develop partnerships that align with Canonical's strategic objectives
  • Negotiate contracts with new and existing partners and customers
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Exceptional academic track record from high school and university
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or equivalent experience
  • Strong ability to establish strategic relationships at all levels
  • Extensive experience with Linux, cloud models, container service offerings, and software development
  • Excellent business English writing and presentation skills
  • A personal drive to meet commitments and deliver results
