Financial Controller Job Description

Accor Hotels is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team. As a pioneering leader in responsible hospitality, we gather more than 45 brands, 5,600 hotels, 10,000 restaurants, and lifestyle destinations in 110 countries.

The Financial Controller will handle high-level accounting, financial reporting, managerial accounting, and oversee the financial controls of the company. She/He will manage and supervise all aspects of accounting from payroll to tax compliance, assist with financial planning, as well as the development of finance policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Policy Development: Develop financial policies and procedural manuals to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Forecasting: Forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results to inform business decisions.
  • Budget Planning: Facilitate the budget planning process and controls, as well as periodic review of annual budget in line with actual performance.
  • Credit Control: Manage credit control and financial risk management to minimize financial exposure.
  • Treasury Management: Oversee treasury management to optimize cash flows and financial resources.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct profit and cost analyses to identify areas for cost optimization.
  • Confidentiality: Develop secure procedures to maintain confidential information.
  • Compliance: Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with relevant policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Cost Optimization: Recommend cost-optimizing solutions to improve financial performance.
  • Settlements: Ensure that all settlements relating to receivables are duly substantiated and authorized.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial and statistical models, forecasts, and outlooks to stakeholders.
  • Statutory Accounts: Manage the preparation of the company's statutory and management accounts.
  • Financial Oversight: Assist the GM in overseeing the company's financial operations.

Requirements:

  • Financial Acumen: Financial & business acumen to inform strategic decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent team spirit and leadership to motivate and guide the finance team.
  • Professionalism: High standards of professionalism and ethics to maintain a positive reputation.

Education and Experience:

  • Accounting Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from a recognized university/polytechnic.
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in a senior finance or accounting position or 2 years of experience in a similar capacity.
  • Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) will be an added advantage.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Fully conversant in accounting principles and financial regulation standards.
