The ideal candidate will support and assist the Senior Drilling Engineer with all aspects of drilling engineering works for successful, cost-effective and safe implementation of exploration wells.
- Responsibilities include coordinating and preparing the drilling program, cost estimates and authorization for expenditure;
- Evaluating offset well data and building correlation packages;
- Monitoring daily drilling operations by actively participating on the operation team;
- Interacting daily with service companies to ensure safe and efficient well construction as planned;
- Reviewing bridging documents;
- Keeping drilling management advised on progress of drilling activities;
- Coordinating all necessary permitting requirements;
- Preparing work scope and evaluating technical and commercial selection of service providers and equipment;
- Enforcing operational, safety, and environmental policies and procedures;
- Reviewing and providing feedback on vendor invoices;
- Improving drilling efficiency through the application of state-of-the-art technology in all facets of operations;
- Reducing non-productive time and operations cost by identifying problem areas, analyzing non-productive time trends and recommending remedial action;
- Reviewing, analyzing and modifying base requirement for the scope of work and technical specifications for tender packages to be in line with project requirement and meeting minimum cost concept and HSE requirement;
- Ensuring that all well documentation is organized during and at the end of drilling operations.
Required skills and knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering;
- Five years of experience in drilling engineering and operation with minimum five years' experience in drilling operation;
- Availability to go to rig site as required;
- Familiarity with Landmark drilling package;
- Fluater drilling rig units;
- Fluent English language skills;
- BOSIET and IWCF level 4 certification.
