Regional Customs Strategist

The position of Regional Tires Customs Manager is a key role in leading a team of customs specialists in the South America region, ensuring compliance and business value.

• Functional lead for customs procedures, exchanges best practices with regional and German customs coordinators.
• Trains and steers the South America/Americas Customs Community on audits, performance reports, compliance, gap analysis, and best practices.

Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring customs and foreign trade legal changes, implementing countermeasures to ensure compliance and business value.
• Supporting customs CMS/ICS reporting cycles, defining follow-ups, and ensuring timely closure of weaknesses.
• Identifying and communicating customs-related risks and opportunities to senior stakeholders globally.
• Leading strategic and optimization projects, tracking progress, and preparing regular reports.
• Establishing regular exchanges of best practices in the region and participating in lobbying activities.
• Coordinating external customs audits and acting as an audit coordinator.

A university degree in business, finance, informatics, or interdisciplinary fields such as international business law or business informatics is required. The ideal candidate should possess excellent leadership skills, strong analytical thinking, and proficiency in negotiation and communication. Experience in customs management and risk assessment is highly desirable.
