The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in our healthcare team, responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound exams and invasive procedures to physician specifications and established protocols.
Main Responsibilities:- Perform all diagnostic ultrasound procedures using appropriate patient protocols, positioning, technique selection, equipment, and supplies.
- Identify patient needs and provide instruction and guidance in regards to ultrasound procedures.
- Review and confirm provider orders, provide technical support, and consult with the radiologist.
- Deliver high-quality scans and communications to the radiologist.
- Produce images of optimal quality using sound judgment and deviate from normal techniques to optimally visualize the principle area of interest.
- Maintain accurate documentation of scans and handle patients with a high degree of professional ethics, care, tact, courtesy, patience, and safety.
- Strive to reduce defects, errors, and reworks through a preventative planning process.
- Assist in the instruction of new employees and ancillary departments.
- A specialized diploma graduate of an approved CAHEA school of diagnostic medical sonography or certification program.
- One year clinical experience in ultrasound.
- One year abdominal, GYN, peripheral vascular doppler experience.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively manage medical information.
- Ability to work independently and competently.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and medical staff.
