Financial Professional Role

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity of accounting and prepares accurate and timely financial statements and documents, aligning with local GAAP and IFRS standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading month end and year end closing activities;
  • Verifying and performing payments to suppliers, managing cash flow, and ensuring all payments are properly approved prior to payment;
  • Reviewing transactions to ensure accounting treatment is in accordance with IFRS and internal accounting regulations;
  • Reviewing general ledger accounts and making necessary journal entries, including posting monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals;
  • Preparing and recording Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Assets entries by compiling and analyzing account information;
  • Posting payroll entries, reconciling social charges, bonus accruals, and pay-outs;
  • Analyzing and reviewing company expenditures;
  • Producing error-free accounting reports and presenting results;
  • Participating in financial standards setting and forecast process;
  • Assisting with tax audits, tax returns, and consumption tax returns;
  • Leading staff's work and ensuring compliance with IFRS and FIFA Accounting principles;
  • Providing necessary support for auditors and seeking ways to improve upon accounting processes and procedures;
  • Assisting management on special requests.

Key qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field;
  • Proven experience (4 years or more) as an accounting supervisor and/or senior accountant;
  • Experience working in an international environment;
  • Experience using/maintaining a financial ERP model (e.g., SAP);
  • Event Finance experience is advantageous;
  • Procurement experience is advantageous;
  • Good communication skills, ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written);
  • Strong sense of responsibility;
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment;
  • Focus on accuracy and timeliness, attention to detail;
  • Confidentiality; and Right to work in Brazil.
