Physics Researcher

We are seeking highly qualified researchers with strong backgrounds in physics and analytical skills to contribute to the development of large language models (LLMs) in understanding complex physics problems. The researcher will be responsible for tasks such as calculating the probability of a high-energy pion decaying within a certain distance or finding the joint probability distribution of scaled times for 1D Brownian motion.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD/Postdoc in Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field, and possess strong analytical and communication skills. The researcher should be able to work independently in a remote research environment and participate actively in team discussions.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve accurate calculations of physical phenomena, including multi-step conceptual or quantitative questions in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum theory.
  • Evaluate model weaknesses and suggest improvements to training and evaluation workflows.

Requirements:

  • Academic Background: Enrolled in or completed a PhD/Postdoc in Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to solve advanced physics problems with clear and structured reasoning.
  • Communication Skills: Clarity in explaining complex topics and providing feedback with precision.
  • Research Independence: Ability to work independently in a remote research environment and participate actively in team discussions.
  • Technical Setup: Access to a reliable computer and internet setup to participate in remote assignments.
