Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute SD-WAN architectures to align with organizational goals and enhance network efficiency.
- Engage with key stakeholders to identify requirements, evaluate network demands, and formulate SD-WAN initiatives.
- Set up and deploy SD-WAN hardware, including routers, switches, and other networking devices.
- Oversee SD-WAN functionality, diagnose issues, and fine-tune settings for maximum performance and dependability.
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to establish and uphold SD-WAN security protocols, such as encryption, firewall configurations, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Perform network evaluations and propose improvements to boost SD-WAN effectiveness, scalability, and security.
- Maintain thorough documentation of network setups, processes, and best practices.
- Offer technical mentorship and support to junior engineers and network operations personnel.
- Keep abreast of industry developments, new technologies, and best practices in SD-WAN and network engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Preferred certifications include Cisco CCNA/CCNP, VMware VCP-NV, or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering with a specialization in SD-WAN technologies.
- Practical experience with SD-WAN solutions such as Cisco Viptela, VMware, or comparable platforms.
- Expertise in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, and VLAN configurations.
- Solid knowledge of WAN technologies, including MPLS, VPN, and Internet connections.
- Experience with network security measures such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
- Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting abilities with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, capable of collaborating effectively within a group setting.
