The UK's Brazil Network is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Climate Policy Adviser to join our team in Brasilia. As a key member of our Climate Policy Team, you will play a critical role in shaping and implementing the UK's climate policy in Brazil, working closely with the Ambassador and other senior colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective climate policy strategies in Brazil, working closely with the Climate Counsellor and other stakeholders.
- Provide high-level analysis of climate policy developments in Brazil, identifying opportunities and challenges for the UK.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the Brazilian government, Congress, and civil society, to advance the UK's climate policy objectives.
- Lead the Climate Policy Team, line managing 3 Policy Officers and providing guidance and support to colleagues.
- Contribute to the internal leadership and management of the UK Network in Brazil, upholding and role-modeling our values of Respect, Excellence, and Together.
- Extensive experience in climate policy or a related field, with a strong understanding of the Brazilian context.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide high-quality research and analysis.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Proficient in English and Portuguese, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
- Experience working in the international context, with a strong understanding of climate policy and governance.
- Previous line management experience, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as public policy or environment.
The successful candidate will be based in Brasilia, with regular travel to other locations in Brazil and the UK. The role will require a high level of flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
